Eligible communities of backward classes and most Backward classes of Tamil Nadu, whose pecuniary circumstance are certified to be such as to prevent them from prosecuting their studies without the assistance of scholarships are granted scholarship by the backward classes Department. The annual income of the guardian should not exceed Rs.200000/- for backward classes.
Students belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and other converted eligible communities of Tamil Nadu, whose pecuniary circumstances are certified to be such as to prevent them from prosecuting their studies without the assistance of Scholarships, are granted Scholarship by the Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.
